KARL LAGERFELD announces the opening of its pop-up store in the center of Athens, from April 27 to May 31, 2023. The Ultimate Icon collection will be presented for the first time highlighting the colossal legacy and work of the designer.
The pieces are decorated with Karl's original sketches, unique embroidery, intricate trims and characterful prints, creating a collection that combines the past, present and future. The exclusive pop-up presentation of the collection will coincide with the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's 2023 Costume Institute Exhibition, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.
The creative team chose the Flexible Mannequins to present the Historical, Museum pieces from Karl Lagerfeld's personal archive. The archival looks travelled exclusively from Paris for the pop up in Athens, and only for a few days.
The abstract head shapes, the delicate silhouette, and the soft touch of the Flexible Mannequins were "embraced" by the designer's unique creations. The result is a wonderful spectacle, setting aside the classic display mannequins.
